is very important, we have adopted the following policies to safeguard your personal
information and are committed to protecting its confidentiality. We will notify
all registered users via email of any change to this privacy policy, unless you
have opted-out of receiving email from us.
 What
information is gathered automatically from visitors? |
We use your IP address
(the series of numbers associated with your individual computer) to help us avoid
fraudulent registrations. Your IP address does not disclose any of your personal
information whatsoever.

information will I be asked for? |
When you register to use any DancingConnection
service you will be asked for some general identifying information which will
enable us to provide you with this individualized service. We will only use this
information in the course of providing our service to you. Should this entail
sharing information with professional advisors or consultants, the sharing will
be limited to demographic (non-identifying) information, for research purposes.
Once you have registered, you will be given the option of creating an
Identity (photo ad and personal profile). You will be asked for some personal,
but non-identifying, information to complete your personal profile (i.e. whether
you have dependants, height, body type, race, religion, whether you smoke, etc).
This information is not linked in any way to your personally identifiable information
for other members to see. Most personal information you are asked to give is optional.
Required information is limited to only that which is necessary to provide match
results, such as, gender and location.

will this information be used and who has access to it? |
We use your contact
information to send you valuable updates and timely notices of promotions and
mailbox status reports if you choose to have them sent to you. Our site provides
you with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving different types of communications
from us at the point where you complete your profile information. The specific
information we collect is not shared with other organizations without your explicit
consent and is only ever disclosed in situations where required by law. We will
never release your personally identifiable information to an external organization
without your prior consent. You may edit your email preferences at any time. Your
demographic (non-identifying) information is used to personalize your experience,
allow other members to find you through a search result, to compose your personal
profile -- which is associated with an identity you have created -- and to deliver
targeted advertising and promotional offers to you, from external companies, which
are of the highest relevance to your demographic profile. Your contact information
is never available to other members or organizations. In the event that DancingConnection
offers a pricing membership option in the future (currently, all services are
free) and if you decide to change your membership option, you will then be asked
for your financial information (like credit card number and expiry date), which
is encrypted via a secure server and sent to a third party intermediary for processing.
This information is used to bill you for those products or services which you
choose to purchase. Before entering your financial information, you will be transferred
to a secure server to ensure that your transaction is secure. This ensures that
your information is encrypted and cannot be read by others when you initiate your
order. You will know you are in secure mode when the tiny padlock icon - located
at the bottom of your browser - appears "locked." The personally identifiable
information we collect from you is used for internal review only. Internally,
it can be used to improve the content and functionality of our Web server, customize
the content or layout of our pages for each individual member, notify members
about updates to our Web site, or to contact members for marketing purposes. Your
personally identifiable information is not shared with other organizations without
your consent, except in situations where required by law.
